Tori Zirul took her first yoga class when she was 10 years old; at the time she did not realize the profound impact this practice would have on her life. She continued taking yoga classes and studying yoga philosophy throughout her teenage years. However, it was during college that she deepened her practice. Always a firm believer in the mind-body-soul connection, yoga became much more than a physical practice and allowed space for her body and mind to heal. She continued taking yoga while she worked on her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Molecular Biology. She received her teaching certification in 2014. Then, in 2016 she began a committed Zen meditation practice and received level I and II reiki certifications in Jikiden and Usui practices. All of these teachings from science to energetic medicine to yoga have taught a “middle-path” approach to life; one filled with compassion and balance. Tori is interested in people from their cells to selves and her studies have allowed her to understand people and these practices from many different levels. She is currently working on an additional certification for Trauma Sensitive Yoga which is found to be an effective form of treatment for people struggling with PTSD, anxiety, depression, and varying mental health related concerns. She believes people are fully capable of healing and strives to teach classes geared towards soothing the mind and body. Yoga has taught her to embrace her body while meditation has taught her gentleness with her mind and she hopes to share the many benefits of these practices with others. Life happens in real time and yoga/meditation are tools to be present for it.
